The Zwicky box: a powerful method for problem solving and creativity

Feels fitting for the last Emergency Mind Project newsletter of the year to bring a tool focused on thinking creatively about the future. The Zwicky box is a really interesting idea about how to expand the solution space to a problem. It’s definitely an off-the-X tool since there’s a lot of combinatorial / slow thinking involved, but it’s absolutely worth exploring for your team as you hit the new year thinking about ways to improve and grow.

// explore

We’ve talked before about training being for certainty and education being for uncertainty. With 2023 just around the corner, it’s a good time to look back at the year and see where that balance has been. How has your training gone? What about your education? Did you focus on the known and consolidate, or look into the unknown and explore? What are your goals for training and education for the coming year? Whatever they are, and whatever emergencies you face, I hope the new year is a great year for you and yours. Good luck out there.

Something you want to see? Idea for a future thing to dig into? Hit reply and let me know what you’re thinking.

Keep training, and good luck out there!
